Our Story

Ever since the beginning of our infertility journey, foster parenting has been on my mind. I don't know how it got there, since no one in my life at the time was at all connected to the foster parenting world. Over the years, I researched foster parenting and contacted various foster care agencies, but it never felt like the right time for us to do it. Dave and I decided that we would foster parent after we had biological children. After 5 1/2 years of fertility treatments, Dave and I set a deadline so that we wouldn't be doing fertility treatments for the rest of our lives! If I wasn't pregnant by the deadline, we were going to make some big decisions, but they wouldn't involve the same old stuff we had been doing for the past 5 1/2 years straight. A few days before our deadline, I received an email from a recruiter inviting me to a foster parent Q&A panel. I have no idea how that recruiter got my email address. We went and our lives were changed that night. We knew that this was the path for us and that it was the time to start. Since then, God has confirmed to both of us over and over again that He has prepared us for this. We are now licensed to care for two children ages 0-10. We're anxiously waiting for a phone call!
